The Second Saturday Community Market is held in downtown Meadville, PA from May - September. This season, you can find them on Chestnut Street between Park Ave and Mulberry Alley.

Each 2nd Saturday of the month from 9AM - 2PM, browse the wares of local vendors and businesses, enjoy local foods, live music and entertainment, and family activities.

About Paws Hand Delivered: Our handlers are compassionate people who love sharing their four-legged family member with others in need. These volunteers often obtain clearances in order to visit and lovingly give their time. They are local community members who collectively make Crawford County a better place! We provide services to local nursing homes, retirements communities, reading programs, classrooms, companionship, and much more.

Walk in Penn's Woods - French Creek Valley Conservancy

Join French Creek Valley Conservancy for a walk in Penn’s Woods at the Marsh Conservation Easement! This conservation easement is located just outside of Meadville, PA towards Guys Mills, PA. We will explore part of the 41 acres of lovely, wooded forest. This property is not usually open to the public, so this is a great opportunity to come and check it out! This property does have some steep inclines, so please wear shoes with good traction and grip.

Walk in Penn’s Woods is a statewide coordinated event on the first Sunday in October which encourages people across Pennsylvania to learn how their local woods work, see forests in new ways, and appreciate and love the forests so that we can all care well for them.

Puzzle Swap - Meadville Public Library

Give a puzzle, get a puzzle! Meadville Public Library is excited to host their first-ever puzzle swap. 

How does it work?

Donated puzzles will be accepted now until Friday, October 10. Any individual that donates a puzzle will receive a swap ticket, which acts as admittance for early entrance on the day of the swap.  The swap is Saturday, October 11 beginning at 11:00 AM and continuing until 12:30 PM. Ticket holders can enjoy early entrance at 11:00 AM, with the puzzle swap opening to the public at 11:30 AM. 

For every puzzle you donate, you will receive a swap ticket that can be used in exchange for a puzzle during early access. 

Please Note

Meadville Public Library will accept gently used puzzles of any size and piece count, in their original boxes with no missing pieces.  Drop off at the Adult Services Desk in exchange for swap tickets that you can redeem the day of the event. You can receive tickets for as many puzzles as you donate.

Learn how to save seeds from this year’s harvest with Meadville Public Library! At this event, you will learn how to preserve your favorite plant varieties for future generations as well as tips and tricks to get you started on your seed-saving journey. Get ready to participate in our upcoming Seed Exchange in Spring 2026, where you can swap seeds, share knowledge, and expand your gardening horizons.

We learn to identify the handwriting of others…similarly, we can learn to read signatures left by wildlife! This program will teach participants the basics of animal tracking and identifying signs, scat, rubbings, and remains. Learning animal signatures allows you the opportunity to discover which animals passed through, what they did, and where they went. The program guest presenter is Heather Flick, Environmental Education Specialist for the PA Game Commission, NW Region.

The trash weigh-in, collection and picnic will take places at the Cambridge Springs Fairgrounds. Teams register for a specific location and collect trash in the morning then bring to the fairgrounds between 11am and 3pm. Individuals, teams, schools, clubs, and organizations are entered into drawings for cash prizes. The schools with the most participants will win a cash prize for their science program.

Calling all frosting Picassos and sprinkle enthusiasts! It's that time of the year again, and Meadville Public Library is gearing up for their Third Annual Gingerbread House Decorating Contest!

Form your dream team: Collaborate with friends, family, or co-workers – everyone is invited! All materials will be provided, and the best part – the event is absolutely FREE! Participants will receive a pre-built structure and have one hour to decorate it however they please.

Public Viewing & Refreshments

Spectators are welcome to join at 11:30 AM to watch the finale and enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, and milk!
