No Pressure Book Club - Meadville Public Library

  • Meadville Public Library 848 North Main Street Meadville, PA, 16335 United States (map)

Traditional book clubs can be exhausting and too much pressure at times. For this book club, you pick what you want to read based on a monthly theme. The meeting is held in the top floor community space.

The theme for October: Published Between 1914-1945

The Great War (WW I), Russian Revolution, 18th & 19th Amendments, Scopes Tennessee Evolution trial, Lindbergh’s solo flight across the Atlantic, Great Depression, Prohibition repealed, Spanish Civil War, WW II, and more occurred during this time frame known in American literature as the Modernist Period.

Virginia Woolf, William Faulkner, Margaret Mitchell, Aldous Huxley, Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, Franz Kafka, F. Scott Fitzgerald, James Joyce, and J.R.R. Tolkien are just a few of the authors that fit the theme. Happy reading!
