In this 6-week series, you'll learn the essentials of ASL communication, covering everything from the alphabet and numbers to colors, questions, and food signs. Meeting every Thursday between September 3rd through October 8th from 5 PM to 6 PM. Signing up for this course means you’re registering for 6 weeks of classes. No prior experience is necessary — just come ready to learn and have fun!

About the Presenter: Matthew James Cochran started his journey with American Sign Language in 2012. He began by teaching himself ASL and during college he took his first ASL class. Throughout college, he continued to teach himself the language and after transferring to Slippery Rock University, joined their deaf club on campus. In May 2022 Matthew got hired as a Deaf Advocate for the Community Counseling Center for Western Pennsylvania. 2025 marks Matthew’s 13th year using ASL and he continues his understanding of Deaf culture and American Sign Language!
